Scholarships
The Purpose of the Cloth Doll Classroom is to perpetuate the art of cloth dolls.  Beginning in 2005 the Classroom gave scholarships to members of the classroom to attend EDAC, in 2006 the scholarship changed to offering scholarships to any event that is in the means of the funds the classroom.  But the scholarship cannot work without your participation.

If you are an individual applying for a scholarship, here are the guidelines.  You must be a member of the Cloth Doll Classroom.  You must participate in the Challenges,  communicate with the list, no lurking here.  You must contribute to the fund yourself with dolls for auction, fund raisers through your club for the scholarship, or individual donations.

Your funds will be sent directly to the Scholarship Committee for disbursement.  The Committee decides, not me who gets the scholarship, based on the individual  letters that are received from the applicant.

The Scholarships will provide for the cost of the event only, this means you will have to pay your own transportation, and any extras that the event entails.  You will acknowledge the Cloth Doll Classroom at the event, and share your experience with the Classroom though pictures, a detailed account of your experience in a message to the Cloth Doll Classroom List.

There are three categories of Scholarship.

1 Cost of a Cloth Doll Event

2 Cost of an online class

3 Cost of bringing me to your club

The Committed is responsible for the disbursement of the Scholarship Funds.  When participating, please specify which type of Scholarship you are applying for, and when you contribute to the raising of funds, specify where your dollars go.

Club Guidelines

If you wish to bring me in as a teacher to your club, you must present a project to the Classroom and allow all the members of the Classroom the option of participating in the event, this not only bolsters the project funds, it also allows for active participation for all members of the Classroom.

If your club wants to send a member to an event, the club must conduct fundraisers to bolster the funds.  The project needs to be submitted to me for advertisement at the Classroom and on the List.

If you want to take an online class from a different site, then you must be a member of the Classroom.  You must participate in the Challenges and List on a regular Basis.
You must acknowledge the site as the benefactor of the scholarship.  If you want to take a class on the Classroom Site, then you must be a member of the Classroom and have participated in one or more areas of fundraising at the site.

Cloth Dolls are an art.  As with any art style, it can become transient if there is a lack of interest.  The scholarship will be presented to an event that is dedicated to CLOTH DOLLS.

Thank You,
Mary

One way you can play is to get together a goodie bag and offer it to the site for Auction, with all funds going to the committee for disbursement.

Put together a goodie bag, email me with a picture or a description of the contents.
Keep the bag until the winner is announced.  Then mail the goodie bag to the winner.

Specify whether the $$$ go to an Event, On Line Class Scholarship or Club Scholarship.
